Happy Birthday Dad
The last few months I spent with my dad were probably the most precious moments I have ever had with him. We got to exchange words that I thought would never be exchanged, and collect memories that I will hold in my heart forever.
Of course how could I forget his donald duck impression, and how he sat me on his knee and wouldn't let me go untill I knew how to whistle, I still could never top his or Ang's. We used to look in the mirror together and wiggle our noses, I thought we were the only 2 that knew how to do it. WHenever we would get in the ol' chev, Matt and I would say "Where we going Dad" he'd reply "We're going crazy kids"(we always ended up at the black creek store, choosing from a million different ice cream flavors). On the weekends he'd make the most incredible pancakes, for us and all of our friends, then when the night fell he'd whip out "Pee Wee Herman" (the classic red bike) and put Matt on his shoulders, me on the handle bars, and kim on the "crotch" bar, and we'd ride around the Crawford circle untill we got tired. He was the only one brave enough to take me out for my very first driving lesson, that was the last one to. I will always remember whenever mom went out of town, we were so excited cause dad would cook us weiners and beans, then we'd play super mario brothers, and laugh like crazy, cause' he always lifted his leg when mario dodged bad guys. When the tv screen got fuzzy, we'd get all upset, he'd say "it'll pass kids its just an airplane flying by" Matt would always be the first one up to look out the window.
I have a million memories in my heart, mind, and soul of me and my dad.
I will think of you, every time I whistle, or wiggle my nose, when I have kids and I tell them "its just an airplane kids". Everyday you will be in my thoughts.
Love always, Weiner
