Update/Trial

We found out last night the ASSHOLE (please excuse my french) that killed Ashleigh, went to the crown in Campbell River and said "I want to make a deal" He said he would plead guilty for a conditional sentence (means no jail time). The crown was thrilled (ASSHOLE TWO) So they told Ian and Deline, (Ashleigh's parents) they objected (obviously). The crown said this was great news, "now I don't have to work this weekend" So Ian went to Nanaimo to talk to the district crown. He said "NO WAY" (thank God) They told ASSHOLE#1 he said "Fine, but I'm pleading guilty no matter what" So now there will be no hearing, which means we won't hear what really happened that night. Some of the victims (Matt) had written up a speech, which won't be heard either. Now instead there will just be a sentencing trial, and we have to wait, because the judge needs to review EVERYTHING which could take months. So in otherwords he just bought himself more time out of jail. 14 months has passed and nothing, it makes me sick.

Canada's laws and sentences are really questionable, Krystle. Really, really questionable.

    Not happy to hear this.

I feel if it was a sobor driver that ran the red light while speeding, and killing someone he/she would be treated alot worse. Its almost like ASSHOLE#1 has an excuse because he WAS so intoxicated. Its sickens me to death.
