One Of A Kind

Cuba

I came across some wonderful pictures of a place I used to live. Although they are not the ones we originally took, they resemble exactly, the place that changed my life in the best possible way.

Its not easy being 15. Its the age where you start following peer pressure, and the paths that shape who you become. You try new things, you never thought you would. You rebel on everything your parents say, and your siblings just become annoying images. You will do anything to be popular.

I was 15 years old when I was pulled from the only place I ever knew, the only place I wanted to know. As much as I didn't want to leave my home, my friends, my life, I am so glad I did. My experiences in Cuba made me realize that family is one of the most important things in ones life, their people that will be in your life forever. It made me understand that money, and having cool expensive things is the least of our worries. I learned that being yourself takes you a whole lot further in life, then being someone your not.

Living in Cuba prepared me for things I never imagined happening. Things I thought were impossible, and would never have to go through. Of course that's a whole other story.
