Tofino Trip

Our trip to Tofino started off on Friday. I left Victoria after work and met the guys in Cathedral Grove, from there we drove to Port Alberni and left my car at a friends place. It took about 2 hours to get into Tofino from there where we met up with Andrea, Alan and Brian. We didn't meet up till about 1030pm, so by then there were no campsites till morning. Thank goodness for Alans Tofino experiences, because out next turn was the Tofino Dump. Its sounds sick I know, our first thought was "what we're going to camp out in the dump". This place was un-real & FREE. We drove about 10 minutes down a deserted logging road to find it wasn't so deserted after all. Apparently this is where the overload of Tofino tourists go when there is nothing avalible till the nest day. after passing a ton of small hidden sites off the road we found our very own site fit for 3 tents, 2 cars, a ducati, and 6 thirsty surfers. We drank Lucky and sang campfire songs till the wee hours, and awoke to hungry masquitos and the exaust from the ducati taking off to reserve a site. After we got the spot reserved we piled EVERTHING in one car and left it in the parking lot of the campground, as check in wasn't till 11am, and we wanted to get onto the beach as soon as possible. We surfed till 4, then headed back to the site to set up camp. Skim boarding and bauchi ball followed thru to the evening in the back yard of our campsite, and an encore the next day. We couldn't have asked for a better weekend.
